Thanks. Production based V8's? I wonder what the GM engine is.
NASCAR is no longer production based in the engine dept. They are pure bred race engines now.

I do still enjoy NASCAR, I particularily like watching the Toyotas lose......
I believe the new Chev SS is a RWD car in real life.

I don't follow new cars much anymore, but isn't that SS just a rebaged Pontiac GTO, which is a rebaged Australian Holden, which is the same as a Camero? I would guess their engines are LS of some kind.

OT; I know a couple of fixes NASCAR could do to improve the races: At Daytona and Talladaga, reduce the engine size down to 260 cu. in. and get rid of the restrictor plates. Turn all of the ovals into kidney shaped tracks with a hairpin right hander on the inside corner of the kidney so that the cars would have to be set up for left AND right turns.

It is hard to find specifics on the basic engine but this shows the GM type:

    Sorry, no subtitles.:rolleyes

Thanks MAH! I just watched the race...well, the last bit. Got up too late.
Those are not LS based, but NASCAR based.
Good videos. As he detailed the internal parts, all good old American parts, I'm quite familiar with all of those manufacturers.
